URL - Universal Resource Locator
WWW - World Wide Web
WWW is used to represent that the page you are requesting is the part of this world wide web. This WWW is really not necessary these days to open the webpage. You can just write yahoo.com and the page will open up.
And URL is the address of that page/site. Its not necessary that the web address like http://www.yahoo.com is the URL. URL means the resource locator.
The IP address and the web address both are thee part of the URL. If u put the IP address of the site in place of webaddress, the site will open. URL means the address of the place you want to visit. like the address of your home. the difference is that theres an alternate address of the webpage in form of IP address, However this IP address is the main address of the webpage. When you key in the address like http://www.yahoo.com it is resloved to its corrosponding IP address and then you reach the webpage.
Where as th "WWW" is part of that web address that was usd to represent that the page requested is the part of WWW(World Wide Web) but now a days its not necessary.

If I understand right...URL is Uniform Resource Locator. WWW is World Wide Web. A URL will have a Domain (such as WWW.; there are other domains...yahoo answers uses -ANSWERS.yahoo.com) and file path to indicate the location of a page or file.
So the URL is the total address of a page or file and includes the access protocol... HTTP://, a domain... www., and the file path... yahoo.com/

URL stand for Universal Resource Locator, and means the web address of a web site, such as "http://yahoo.com"
WWW stands for World Wide Web. Can mean the entire Internet. Also, the very first Internet server was actually named "www", so many of the earliest web sites issued have "www" at the beginning of their name, such as "http://www.yahoo.com". Today, you can usually drop the "www" and your browser will still find the site.

A URL is an address that you put into to you browser, in simplest terms.
as far as www, yes it means world wide web, but specifically, it tells the URL that you are going to a web page, such as www.yahoo.com. Now, say I have my own FTP server, I can put in FTP.mydoamin.com and view the files from my browser.

URL, opposite to three different solutions, isn't "well-known source Locator;" it truly is "Uniform source Locator," it truly is a kind of "Uniform source Identifier." an cyber web deal with would purely recommend the deal with of your position, yet assuming you do not have 8 legs, it will be an same as a Uniform source Locator; that's likewise common as a "area call."

In strict technical usage, it is a subset of URI specific to identifiers who are primarily locators.
WWW is a system of interlinked, hypertext documents that runs over the Internet.
