want to lose my land line, what happens with my internet???

Without a land line, you will be unable to use dialup to get to the network. You would need to replace it will something else - cable modem, or other broadband services.

Comcast of course is thru your cable, I don't have a land line either & have hi speed internet

If you're on dial up , you won't have internet service. I went through my cable company. They give you a price break on cable,internet and phone.
