The only thing I can suggest to you now is a gift certificate to (her/his?) favorite store or restraunt. Tickets to a play/concert. Maybe something she asks for.

a gift from your heart is the perfect gift; something that only a true friend can give. You know each other best! It is not the value of the present but the meaning behind it; take the time to give a meaningful gift so she can always remember her best friend no matter what.

One year my best friend gave me the greatest gift. She bought one of those books with sayings about why someone is a best friend. Then, she wrote her own comments inside. It still is one of the nicest gifts someone has ever given me.
