I'm not on the pill, I used protection (condom), I've been nursing for 5 months, and have only had sex once since then. Could I be pregnant again? I felt a bit nauseated the other day, my cycle only came once since I gave birth (granted I've always had irregular cycles), lately I've had heightened sense of smell, and I can't seem to lose weight despite working out and eating less.

I failed to mention that my cycle came back once because I got on the pill during my 3rd month post-partum but stopped taking the pill after 28 days when I noticed it affected my milk production. I did this so I could continue nursing my child.

If you are still nursing the baby (meaning breastfeeding), there is a tendency to have longer periods of amennorrhoea; and that with your irregular cycles may explain the feature;
Morning sickness is not a prominent feature in pregnancies later than the first one.
Chances that you are pregnant are relatively smaller; however, there is no definitive symptom or method by which one can be absolutely certain.
Therefore, i would recommend that you get a urine test (usually after 3 weeks of your last sex - the one that you feel, may have resulted in this probable pregnancy) and if it is negative, you can be definitive; also, in future, use some kind of a barrier method to assure yourself - unless of course, you plan and want to become pregnant again!

Breast feeding is not the easiest thing in the world. I was pregnant with my second child when I was beast feeding my four month old and didn't know it, until I asked my doctor why my milk was drying out! Feeding is suppose to make your uterus shrink faster, and beast feeding makes you hungry because you have to put back all the nutrition into your body. I had the same issues too, get an ept or call your GYN just to be safe.

There is a chance of pregnancy, even if your period has not returned you may have ovulated. Or, now that your son has started solids and is taking less milk your period could be coming back, the sudden change in hormones could be making you a little queasy. My advice, make a dr appointment to get checked out and get on birth control.

Yes, if your periods have returned then you can get pregnant while nursing. I would advise that you take a test.
Just so you know, for most moms, it is completely safe to continue to nurse while pregnant.

You can become pregnant while breastfeeding. If you look it up online, you actually have a greater chance of becoming pregnant with twins or more while you are breastfeeding than any other time. lol. Don't mean to scare you though... good luck.

If you have sex, you can get pregnant. Nursing has nothing to do with it.
