Download virgin-please help!
I would like to start downloading songs from the internet but haven't really done it before and dont know how to go about it *smiles shyly*.
What are good sites, and it sounds like a daft question but how does it work? Is it better to pay a subscription or pay as you go?
What are the pitfalls, eg security?

Thank you, and please excuse my ignorance!

Well the apple music store is the best online store it uses a 99c cent a song payment!http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/

Or you can use limewire which is 100% free LimeWire is a software program so you have to download it but be carefull it has some natsy viruses so be carefull what you download http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml

Then you have the illegal way which is progrmas such as warez http://www.warez.com/ Be very carefull very dangerous
And their are also illegal sites such as http://katz.ws/ and http://softlinkers.org/

But forums are also a good way to find music in any forum put this question in and you will find more ways i hope this helped very much because i spent half an hour on this!

it depends really, i never have or never will paid for a download of anything, there is so much free out there, if you want single songs, the best sites are already listed on here, eg, limewire, if you are looking for full albums the best option is to download the bittorrent program, i use bittornado or bitcomet, then go to a torrent site, like mininova.org, click on the torrent you want and download it, there are less viruses on mininova than limewire as it works in a different way, which ever you use, i would not suggest paying as you can get songs/albums for free before they are on general release to pay download from legit sites, good luck

The best, safest and cheapest way to listen to music from the Web is via an internet radio station. Downloading music to keep for later is, in my opinion, unnecessary, risky and dangerous to your computer if 'free'.
And if it's not free to download, you risk getting poor quality playback.
tee, if you would be happy listening to the music genres or types that you like and for free with excellent quality, then do a google and Yahoo search for radio stations. Then select and save all the sites you like.

One of my free favourites is here:

but it's not to everyone's taste:)))

Itunes is probably the best, even without an Ipod.

Anyone suggesting you use Limewire, bearshare, etc. are encouraging you to steal the music. You must pay for the music you download. Its illegal to download it without purchasing it.

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.

I would go with the website limewire.com. Just make sure you have a good anit-virus on your computer, simply because you may download a corrupted file. Have a nice day!

If you want to do it legal, then pay for it.
Illegal, try something like Limewire or Morpheus. You better have really good virus scan software too.

while using Limewire and other File sharing programs, more caution is needed to protect your computer from malware. Use free Mcafee siteadvisor plugin for your browser, it will warn you about harmful sites
