I remember watching Oprah (embarassingly) and they were all raving about it but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the author. Anybody know the author?. Anybody read it? What's it about?

Cheers people! I had no clue about any of that (must have been under a rock)! Basically he called it a memoir and it's not, but it is a good read - I'm going to get it for my brother.

James Frey is the Author.. and the show must have been a rerun because later it came out the book was a total fabrication. If you just google his name you'll see.

yes its written by James Fray, poor Oprah! i enjoyed the south park version. the book was an autobiography which was supposed to set an example for other people, and it worked well until it turned out to be a scam.....

Yeah. Oprah was the one who was embarrassed by that show. He totally conned her.

i donno it all fell apart
noone bought the book becuse of that
the author thought it was a lark but the publishers didn't
so they fired him
and shatered his heart in too....
and he never wrote again
