Regular exercise and a healthy diet.

But for those of us who live in the REAL world -
Heating pad (the new patches also work pretty well on the back,
but IMHO, not on the front).
Ibuprofen - *check with your GYN FIRST!* but I'll take 4 of the
regular dosage when my cramps are bad bad bad. (that's a
prescription dose... so you really need to check with your gyn
before you take it, 'cause there are potential issues with taking
that much)

ONE glass of red wine (I ain't talking about a mason-jar here,
just a wine-glass' worth).

Massage (best on back - front is helpful, but requires a deep
and delicate touch)

This one is VERY touchy to recommend - it's pretty consistently
helped me, but the risks are far more than the benefits these
days. Unprotected vaginal intercourse with male ejaculation.
I'm dead serious that I do NOT recommend this as a cure for
cramps unless you are married, surgically sterile, and with a long
term monogamous partner. If you aren't in that position, get
drunk with a heating pad and no ibuprofen instead.

Advil and a heating pad and try to get your mind off it by watching tv or something. Advil usually takes 20 minutes to start working.
I had to put up with severe cramps for years and that is what i found to help. At least for me, Tylenol didn't touch my cramps.
Advil is da bomb.......

My momma used to give me a heating pad and hot chocolate and tylenol. I change the tylenol to 3 ibuprofens when I got into my 30's. If you are having severe problems, go to the doctor. I had multiple fibroid tumors that caused me unmanagable pain this year. (Had surgery.)

Plan for your period several days before it is due. Take a motrin or ibuprofin every four to six hours. Limit your caffeine intake, exercise and increase your water intake.

The key to decrease pain is to stop it before it starts..

I used to have those. Thank goodness I've eliminated them by eating a balanced meal, avoiding salty foods days before my period comes and adding lots of milk to my diet. Good luck!
