I think many of life's twist and turns are just enhancements of things already out there, so you have a point. I would like to think there is some originality left out there though sweets!

No. Not in the least bit.
Science builds upon itself, so each new discovery leads to other new discoveries.
As peoples views and experiences changes so does the things we think about and produce.
Art is different. There are different art forms as well as interpretations.
Manufacturing and business is different.
People, in general, are different.
We are influenced by our environment, the things we see, feel, hear, read and experience.

No, there are an infinite combinations and situations. Its just that the people controlling the world have very little imaginations and that prevents them from making new and fresh decisions!
