Taking them to a vet is a good idea, just to make sure they're okay and to get some suggestions. Because if the mom died, she might have had something wrong with her that she passed onto her babies.

Don't feed them from your finger!! Older hamsters have no problem taking food from human fingers, but baby hamsters don't have the ability to fight off the bacteria on human fingers! Human hands shouldn't be anywhere NEAR baby rodents until they're much older.

I'd suggest making sure their water bottle is in reach of them and things like that, and try cutting up some small small apple pieces without the skin and putting them in the cage. It doens't take developed teeth to eat the apple, and they can get liquid from it, too.

What kind of mushed up food were you giving them? Mushed up hamster food? Mushed up human food? I'm assuming it's human food, but what was it? Check online or ask on here and make sure it's safe for baby hamsters (because they can't eat the same things as adult hamsters), and DON'T put it on your finger but directly into the cage.

Good luck! Let us know how they're doing!
