Used to live in the west of Scotland for more years than I care to remember-will never forget how prejudiced the Protestant establishment were and still are towards the immigrant Irish population in particular.
That joke of a Scottish Parliament makes soundbites about eradicating sectarianism when half of it's members are fully paid up members of the Orange Order and Freemasonic Lodges.
They make subtle suggestions about the need to abolish Catholic schools as the Catholic church have the audacity to realise their agenda and stand up to them.
Let you into a secret,brothers-people who leave and move on don't miss it half as much as you think!!

misssmidgey should you not be called missthepoint?
You might not ram religion down their throats but I think you certainly ram anti Catholocism or anti Irishness down it!!

It's like I have been saying for year parts of Scotland as far too parochial for any ones good even their own. And I for one welcome incomers to this nation of bigots. And then perhaps in time all this sectarianism will be buried along with the rest of the bigotory.

Not sue about the Rangers thing but Scotland certainly has it's fair share of racists.

Yes it is....but you never hear Irish Americans saying "Get the Scots out of Ireland" do you? They want to put the blame on England all the time. I think the Scottish establishment is much more bigotted against Catholicism than the English establishment.

Sectarianism has ruined N.Ireland and parts of Scotland, I'm just glad Wales escaped it.

I hope all the tourists who are fooled into thinking that scotland is a lovely country where everyone is nice and friendly are reading this........

no I think Celtic fans are just as bad & don,t really see a need for Catholic schools .we don,t call schools Protesants go to Protesants schools & we don,t ram religion down our kids throats from a early age .I don,t hate Catholics & have irish relatives but its clear youve got a problem with ,Protesants
