I was in the same position... I arranged an induction to my new doctor's surgery asking for appointment with doctor.. I had to wait over two weeks for the appointment to find out it was really with the nurse and she couldn't/wouldn't provide the prescription... had to then rush around and have a second appointment that was definately with a doctor in order to get the prescription.
She then told me I should have gone to the family planning clinic that is only held at certain times and days..
Therefore it is best to speak to local GP surgery in order to find local family planning clinic... I was told that you still need a pre-booked appointment however.
I am not sure about walk in centres as there aren't any in my immediate area but it is quite likely that they can help.
hope that helps :)

You can go into any surgery and ask to be seen as an emergency or immediately necessary treatment patient. Explain that you have recently moved and need more contraception and it shouldn't be a problem. They shouldn't really treat you as a temporary resident as you are now in that area and this would affect them taking you on to their main list. The local Primary Care Trust will have details of all practices in that area

Your local hospital probably has a list of doctors they can send you to. But, ask around to see who just loves their doctor. Make and appointment and they will refill your medication. Some states will let you call the last doctor and give you a refill until you have time to find a good doctor. Family Practice or Internist.

yes you can go to the NHS walk in center but before you do that you can also find out in your nearest surgery if they will issue you with a temporary registration card and issue you the pills. This will be better than breaking the pill cycle.

You can go to the free clinic to get your prescription filled. Or if it has been a very short while, you can contact your old doctor and see if he will write you an emergency prescription.
