Can you get a violation from Yahoo even if no one reports you ?

YES! (Both) Yahoo answer team has some filter to certain question. if it gets picked up by their little filter, then it wont get posted. or no one will see the posting.

Yahoo have violated me under the general terms of breach of community guidelines so I do suppose they do a little bit of random violating.

Yes you can get a violation without being reported. Most people only get reported for sick stuff, advertising or chatting.

A bit of each, the ones that only say you have broken a community guideline, but not which one, I think come straight from Yahoo.

However strict yahoo are, they are no worse than a certain message board my bandmate got banned from: His avatar was our band logo - an adapted coat of arms.
He got banned for "besmirching the Queen".

Reports, defnitely! Like "zen" says, look at some of the stuff that's still on here. Obviously, Yahoo isn't watching closely!!!
I never got reported for any violations until I got to level 3 and it only got worse when I hit level 4. I think some tattletale doesn't like me.

ppl snitching they took 12 point from me tonite cause someone didnt like something i said. yahoo dosent investigate they just give you a violation thats that bullshyt.
