Mohammed Al Fayed has said that Princess Diana said she believed she would be killed in a car crash staged to look like an accident. Why then did she not fasten her seatbelt?

It was released in the press statement on Sky News yesterday, given by Mohammed Al Fayed and his spokesman. A letter written in her handwriting and sent to Paul Burrell, containing these details, was read out.

To challenge your answer a) saz, surely if she didn't know when the crash was going to happen all car journeys would be taken seriously and she would have belted up.

It should of been up to Trevor Rees Jones to of made sure that the Princess was safe and secure, that is what he was paid for. Not to see her killed.

I remember reading somewhere that she did say that. Good question. She wasn't thinking straight that night. She let Dodi run the whole show. Why the big plan to sneak out of the Ritz so the press couldn't get pics of her? They always get pics of her. Why all the drama of Dodi planning the great escape, Dodi not noticing for 30 minutes before they got into the Mercedes that their driver was drunk as a skunk? Diana let men run her life and it cost her everything.

I've always thought that interesting. The media totally ignored the fact that neither her nor Fayed were wearing seatbelts. They would be alive today if they had.

NOT WEARING A SEATBELT IS SUICIDE ... 30 years ago I survived a 120mph head-on crash in a Cortina cos I DID wear mine. My car looked just like their car after the accident. Bear in mind they were only doing 60mph and in a modern Mercedes, 100x stronger than an old Cortina.

I suppose because the papparazzi were having a feeding frenzy and chasing after them, adrenaline was high and she just plain forgot. It's plausible. I don't know whether she had been drinking but if so that may have had a role too.

If the passenger died in an accidente and did no longer have a seat belt on area of the blame lies on the passenger a majority is the drivers as he/she ought to have been on top of problems with the motor vehicle and ought to have made specific all occupants have been belted. the motive force is to blame for anybody in the automobile and could lead them to buckle up as he would be ticketed for negligence if stopped

I reckon it was a sabotaged seatbelt that came undone as the brakes were applied suddenly... another reason why the car was removed quickly!

a)She said she knew they would die in a car crash , she didnt say when exactly did she?
b)With all of the unfair horrid stuff going on in her life , maybe that brings us to the conclusion that she wanted to die?
c)She knew that the person trying to kill her ( (supposedly the MI5, because they work for the queen and the queen said she brought shame upon the royal name and therefore on all of england) wasnt going to stop till he/she/they had her dead.

Apparently her injuries(fatal)could not have been prevented with or without a seat belt.
