"To take it 'that up with (someone)"

Does that mean that you'll have to negotiate someone for some thing or that you'd have to fight someone for something.
For example "I would like to play Cleopatra in the school play"
"You'll have to take that up with Jane for that."

It is an expression to "go and talk to the relevant person". It is usually the person who must make a decision on the matter.
