i was born in porterville and lived on a indian reservation. I was told that cause i live there that i might be able for some type of indian heritage finacial assistant for me and my children. I that true and where can i see if i qualify?

I believe that if you can show some indian heritage, you are allowed a tax exemption/tax assistance, but you would need to speak to the IRS about that. There are several programs that you can get grant money or loan money based on indian heritage as well. I'm pretty sure that you can get assistance only if you have the indian heritage and you meet the specific requirements for the assistance.

Were your parents Indians ???
If so, then you are , and are en tittled to whatever benefits are available...

If your parents are of non-Indian blood, then you are not en tittled to anything...

As a youngster, I lived on an Indian reservation in Alaska for a couple of years, but that does not make me an Indian....

Look up the "Bureau of Indian Affairs" office in your phone book. I'm sure that there's a whole set of defining criteria. Good luck to you.

contact the Indian council where you were born for proof.. it isn't as easy as it sounds getting proof but if you do your entitled to various programs through the Government .
