I wanted to add that by saying strong successful women it doesn't mean that i refer to women that don't have families. I know women who can do both fine!

They are fine if they respect the men in their lives and don't try to dominate them

good for them, I think all women should look at mrs thatcher as the ultimate symbol of strength and success.
Too many women have the attitude without the talent. The type that work in pointless jobs for borough councils usually.
But I dont think anyone sees is as a threat.Everyone should be allowed to progress on merit.
Problems arise soemtimes when govt bodies are forced to adopt positive discrimination , where sex and racial quotas have to be met regardless of merit. This regresive system means that sometimes a woman less able than a male applicant for a job is given the job to fulfil quotas. If a woman reaches strength and success only becasue of this then resentment will soon follow.

Nothing wrong in strong successful woman but when they use their given power to destroy others for their own gains then that is not acceptable. They have no friends secret enemies plenty.
Seen it too many times in my life only negativity follows finally that downhill slide. Then on the lower level they are remembered for what they did.

Some men can't handle a strong successful woman because they feel challenged!

To me it's OK... I would be proud to be with a successful woman... but less of the 'strong', please! We are supposed to be the strong ones!

I still have a soft spot for a weaker, dependent woman who needs someone to 'protect' her so to speak. Doesn't mean you can't be 'successful' or whatever but us men should be the dominant ones, it is the natural way.

many men feel intimidated, probably thinking that she's a cold corporate b!tch, maybe a closet lesbian. This is very sad and unfair, but probably goes back to how they were raised.

I would always prefer a strong and successful woman over a weak and unsuccesful one. But then I don't have ego problems. BTW, I was raised by a single mother.

Oprah is a good communicator, a clever marketeer and emotes well on television. That is why she is successful.

Is she strong? In business, yes. Emotionally? I don't know. Never married, no children, her relationship with Stedman always seems unstable or 'up in the air'.

Women are rarely both successful AND strong.

No problem with them whatsoever even though their heads must be up there a*rses at least once every 28 days-
Can't stand women with penis envy who try to out-testosterone blokes at work tho-it looks and is sad.A woman to be respected and taken seriously must be successful on her own merits-a bit like guys have to be!!
Reminds me of a saying that goes-Every man owes his success to his first wife and his younger glamorous second wife to his success-sad but true in some cases!!!

they're fine, no prob. However many of them just copy the strong successful man thing. Nothing new there!

And, what does it matter what ur gender is, if your relationships are in tatters?

I personally am impressed by successful women.

I disdain any gal who lays on the couch and think everything should be handed to them on a silver platter.

All couch and no ambition make gals very dull indeed!

Brace yourself, Sheila, here comes my answer.

I'm male, ok - apart from the blatantly obvious things, there is very little that a man is capable of but not a woman - and vice-versa.

BUT - there's a lot of women out there who think there's still a point to prove - they over-compensate because they think we still look down on them for not having "one of those things down there".

Most of us have got over that archaic anachronism - Your turn girls, come play the came of catch-up with us, we're happy to have you with us on the journey.
