my cpu was given to me this year; 128mb ram
running windows 98. Freezes on many sites, usually have to just cross my fingers and hope the browser doesnt freeze. noticed this problem when trying to look at videos on yahoo/60 minutes. "javascript: void (0)" but many other times,"javascript: void (0)" does not appear, the link just seems to freeze the browser as soon as I click it.??????????????????

I think the problem is with your browser. A PC with 128MB of RAM should be enough to visit those sites. Try using a different browser, like Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ ) or Opera (http://www.opera.com/ ). They should be faster and more stable compared to Internet Explorer (if you're using it).

I frequently stomp around the residing house for type of one/2-hour screaming and yelling. Then I take out my cordless drill, put in a a million/4" drill bit and bore a large hollow in my kneecap. This redirects both my astounding discomfort and my inhuman anger to a diverse source.

This happens when your browser's compiler runs into a misleading state. Just update your IE using Windows Update and it should work. After all, the compiler does all the work. It's a compiler issue.

I doubt it is the javascript call itself, as that is a "null" call - a piece of code that does nothing. I suspect it could be something else on that site though. My advice would be to stop going to it.
