Basically would you rather be a small fish in a big pond as a Senator or you rather be a big fish in a small pond as a governor.

For me it would probably come down to the size of the state.

There are advantages to being a small fish in a big pond; take it from me, I'm a natural expert. I'd choose the Senate, work my way on to an important committee, and later seek a leadership position. It's time for Congress to take back some of the powers that have been usurped by the Executive, and I'd enjoy being a part of that movement.

I would think that would depend on your motive for becoming either. A Governor is a leader and a manager. A Senator is an overseer and a ponderer. If I had the ambition to become President some way I would seek a governorship to get the experience. Governors make better presidents. The last Senator who was elected President from the Senate was Kennedy, and although he was adored by a lot of people, he wasn't very good at his job.

Governor. You're sorta like president of a state, which is cool. You get to live in an awesome mansion, and, generally are less scrutinized than a senator is nationally (depending on the state, CA, NY, NJ and CT are exempted). Plus you have better odds of eventually becomming POTUS

Be a king of a state but a big one. A governor is the big boss in a state who controls all the activities within the boundaries.
