Which position do you pick first and who at that Position of todays current players, I would tend to say You need a big man first but of todays Players I dont think anyone helps a team as much as Steve Nash

the era of the big man is pretty much ending with Shaq.
Dwight howard maybe.
but to start the Franchise i would have to go with LeBron.

Most of where players end up really depends on the coaching philosophy of the coaching staff. You will often see teams pick-up high price players but not succeed b/c the players don't match the style of play the coach needs.
As for me, I am more a defensive minded type of a person. I like a strong defensive person in the middle. I would either pick Dwight Howard b/c he is young and very athletic. Or Yao b/c of height and good talent.
But if I am to do a run & gun type of a team, Nash is definitely my guy barely edging out Kidd. Both has great passing ability but Nash has a slight better outside shot and FT.

I would pick LeBron James first. Steve Nash might be great but he's only got a few good years left. LeBron still has his entire career before him. Even if he doesn't have good players around him, he can carry his entire team

If you can get a top-notch point guard (Steve Nash or Jason Kidd type), that's a definite must. A team with four great starters but a crappy point guard will struggle. Especially in todays wide-open game, you especially need a point guard. 20/30 years ago not so much, they just fed it to their biggest player, but not anymore.
