Yes, dogs will chase mice. As several answerer's pointed out, some dogs were specifically bred for the hunting of rodents. When I was younger we had a mid size dog (sorry to burst incongru's bubble) that hunted all her own food.Seriously, this dog never had dog food until she was 13 and couldn't get around as well due to arthritis. She was an excellent mouser and ate mice, rats, moles and other small rodents on a regular basis. A little known fact for you....Wolves are ALSO excellent mousers and actually a large part of their diet consists of mice and other voles....the hunt, chase and kill of larger prey is not an everyday occurrence.

We had a mouse a good few years ago, our golden retriever just sat and watched it tap dance across the room and did nothing, I think the dogs with terrier in tend to chase mice.

Maybe, they chase mice too.We all know that dogs chase cats but we think that dogs don't like the things that cats do.Of course, dogs have territories like wild animals do. Maybe once any mouse come on their territory, they'll get mad for sure.

Jack Russells CERTAINLY do. We had a Jack russell that was particularly good at this. They are lightning fast.
It caught a gerbil once too. The gerbil's owner was NOT particularly amused.
I couldn't see a bigger , pet dog trying to catch a mouse though. They wouldn't be fast enough, either mentally or physically.

when i was little we had a black terrier we used to take him for walks in the gowan hills below stirling castle, he used to actually listen at the ground to hear the mice and voles and such underneath and dig em up and chase them and he usually caught them too.!
A lot of small dogs were bred as 'ratters' so i would say a big yes

My dog does. He sometimes catches them in the garden but he tends to just hold them in his mouth and if you shout he'll drop them.
He looks pretty funny with just the tail sticking out of his mouth! The mice are usually fine btw, a bit wet and shell shocked but fine!

I'm not sure about chasing mice but my Standard Poodle (big dog) chases spiders. Out of dozens of attempts he caught one. didn't like the taste.

sorry to break it to you, but yes they do!!
As a matter of fact many dogs were breed for this purpose in mind, the frasier dog eddie is a Jack Russell terrier (named moose). That dog was breed for hole hunting, meaning that they hunt small animals in holes, like mice. Intresting fact you can hold a jack russell by the tail, again they were breed for it!!!
