I would like to make some cube shaped parcels. whats the shape of a cube when its laid out flat? A picture would be handy.

Simplest is to select a square of the size you want & then trace as below (otherwise you have to draw each of the squares.).
1. Draw a square.
2. Draw 4 more squares - one each on all four sides of the first square (This will look like a fat cross & represents the bottom of the box + the four walls of it - when folded along the lines.)
3. Add another square to any of the "Wall" squares. (This will fold over as the top lid of the box).

To make a cube you need a shape that looks like the letter T but with one extra square in the middle at the top! this of it as a small t but with no curve at the bottom.

draw four squares down and then on the second square down draw another square each side so it's a kind of cross..

if you're folding it into a cube, you might want to add some tabs to the sides though..

Draw to squares. the second one half inside the first...then join the lines connecting the two squares. you would get a cube. the squares have to be of equal sizes and join the corresponding vertices.

LOL I do that all of the time, then I draw little fishies in them and put plants in the cubes, a virtual fish aquarium!

Thats a rough idea but its not to scale obviously & some of the tabs are missing. hope that helps. However it looks a complete load of gibberish in the preview hope it clears up when I submit it.
