I've been divorced 32 years and there is still a void for the things I had hoped, dreamed, and planned on for my life. I think of the things I thought I had; I wish for what I thought my husband was (before I discovered he was a cheater, a child molester, a liar). I think of the country home we owned where I thought we would celebrate family with our children and grandchildren gathered around us for as long as we lived. I don't miss what we had but I miss what I thought we had. It's still sad after all these years.

Anytime you are in a long term relationship you tend to lose who you really are. So when you are alone again it is hard to remember who you were and what you liked to do before you got married. I feel for you good luck in finding yourself again.
