Whatever u do don't go anywhere on your own after dark, even if it's just a short walk, get someone to walk with you or take a car - make sure someone knows where your going.
it's awful what's happening, everyone needs to be cautious now

I am a 28 year old woman from Leeds and was only a child when theYorkshire Ripper case was ongoing. But, sadly Peter Sutcliffe did start out murdering prostitutes and then moved on to to killing any women he came across. Personally I would stick to never going out alone after dark, always have a way of getting home arranged when going on a night out and NEVER deviate from this. Always make sure someone you trust i.e a family member knows where you are and who you are with. Remeber this vicious murderer could be anyone a taxi driver, a doctor, a nurse even a PC. Your top priority whether there is a killer at large or not is to be responsible for your own safety.

my mum sent me this by email, look after yourself.

As you are aware there is a lot if concern in the Ipswich area regarding
the recent events. Suffolk Police would like to offer you some personal
safety advice to bear in mind over the coming festive season.

We appreciate that you might not be intending to go out but it would be
useful if you could pass the advice on to anyone you know who will be.

Personal Safety Advice whilst out on foot from Suffolk Police;

-Be alert - walk with purpose and confidence.

-Try to walk in groups and avoid short cuts through unlit or deserted
areas.

- Let someone know where you are going and your time of return.

- Walk facing the traffic so a car cannot pull up behind you unnoticed.

- Be aware of your surroundings; a personal stereo may prevent you from
hearing traffic or somebody approaching behind you.

- Cover up expensive-looking jewellery.

- Do not use mobile phones in open view.

- Carry a personal attack alarm in your hand or on your belt (available
from any police station).

- If you are carrying a handbag, keep it close to your body with the
clasp inwards.

- Keep your house and car keys in a pocket, not in your bag.
Have them ready so that you can get into your house or car quickly.

- If you think you are being followed, cross the street, more than once
if necessary; if are certain you are being followed, go to the nearest
place where there are people, such as a pub or shop, and call the
police.

- If a car stops and the occupant asks for directions, keep your
distance.

- If your bag is snatched do not resist but shout for help.

- If you are confronted, use your alarm and run; scream and shout to
attract attention.

- Do not hitchhike or accept lifts from strangers.

No I don't think so. They can't let this / man drive them in doors.
What women should are:-
1. Don't go out alone. Go out in a group and stay with that group.
2. Let somebody know where you are going and when you will
return and give them your telephone number.
3. Don't walk home. Get a taxi even if you have no money.
Somebody at home can pay your fare.
4. Carry a spray and alarm in bags at all time.

This is the time to be celebrating. Just do it, but be careful.

I'm sorry to hear this has been going on in your town you must be very worried. Personally I would not go out alone until this murderer is caught. But I think this should make everyone more aware of how vulnerable we all are no matter where we live. 5 women murdered without any of them putting up a fight shows how well this killer has thought it out. take care and remember safety in numbers.

Well I'm no expert but it seems the killer is going after prostitutes either because he or she or even they have something against them or could be that they are women allot easier to get a hold of, but because no one knows the real reason yet, yes I'd stay of the streets and be as careful as you can.

If you are talking about Ipswich in England, it was 5 prostitutes who were killed, and the police have asked that sex workers stay off the streets.

The killer seems to be killing prostitutes, so stay away from the Red Light Districts.

There is no eveidence to say he is getting people to go with him against their will.

Sorry to hear the news, it is horrific, these girls are someones daughters & did not deserve what has happened.

I will pray for your safety. Always have someone with you. Look around when you are out. Never look down. Be alert. If you feel like you are in danger, get help immediately. Scream fire as that will get peoples attention more than yelling help if you ever need help. Don't walk alone. Always look people in the eye. They don't like it when you can identify them if you can get away. I am talking about everyday, not just where you live, because I do not know of where you are talking. I have things like that happen here. I am talking about everyday safety anywhere.
