My baby is 6 and half months old, weighs 22 pounds and his lenght is 27 inches. His newborn car seat is already getting too small for him. I've been browsing on gracobaby.com for a new one, but I believe the "Infant Car Seat" that allows me to put him rear-faced for up to a year is already too small. I've also heard of a car seat that will convert to booster seat when I need it to... Any suggestions? Thank You !

Look at the FAQ's at the bottom - it tells you how long children need to be rear facing, etc.

Once my son was 22 pounds, we got a convertible seat, put it in the middle of the back seat and he faced the front. He hated facing the window. I found one that had a extra removable pad that was great when we had a blow out. We got one that reclined so we wouldn't do a "Britney" and have him slumped over. It isn't a law that they have to be rear facing, it is a recommendation from the Pediatricians. I feel he is safe the way he is and we were happy with our decision.

Get a convertable car seat that is appropriate for your child's weight and height. These car seats can be used forward or backward facing. Once the child is old enough (in most states about a year) you can continue to use the same car seat in a forward facing position. It's not an uncommon problem.

I actually put my son in a front facing car seat and then put it facing towards the rear because he was to big for the regular rear facing carseats.

There are seats you can get for up to 40 lbs and beyond. They are both forward and rear facing. You can get these at Wal Mart.

Get one that can convert from newborn to toddler. Graco should have some where you can use them from about 8lb to around 60They look like toddler seats but are safe for younger.
