I do not think Rossie O'Donell is a racist. Not at all.
Rossie O'Donnel is a public figure in America. She does know the side effect could happen to her if she said bad words or mock other races on TV. She is not dumb and ignorant at all to mock the Asian people on TV purposefully...
The thing here is just she simply didn't know about the meaning of her joke. She thought it was fine and okay to say 'ching-chong' on TV. She might thought 'ching-chong' words mean nothing like a name of a dog or something. As simply as that.
As if, let's say here.... in example.... I do not know how to speak English and then I say something in English to joke around and English speaking people attack me as offensive action. And I apology for what I said because I simply didn't really know that English words are offensive to English speaking people.
Is that racism?

I don't think that was racist. Would you think someone that did not speak English was a racist if they used English words to sound like an English speaker? Remember, Ching and Chong are Chinese words...so if I spoke Chinese and said what about repeateadly as a fill in for English because I did not know it, would it be racist? NO. People are being far too easily offended these days.

commonly I attempt no longer to. Can everybody be suprised about her habit on the close to de-crowning of the omit'Whoever'? Who ought to Rosie hate more desirable than elegance contest winners? including to the trend of the frumpy one is little question the outstanding female getting yet another threat, really of being bumped off. She's seen this her entire life...the acceptable human beings get the breaks. perchance she must have only stated no to the lunch female some circumstances in college. yet what fairly insects me about Rosie became at the same time as she became fairly into her Gun administration section. Ripping her fellow celebs for being 'professional-gun'. (What befell th precise of selection, to gun or no longer to gun?) guns kill. guns are evil. seems her protection consists of handguns. How (hippo)intense are you able to get. oftentimes I actually have a low opinion of all celebrities, noticeably the self righteous crusader who would not imagine of putting their money the position their mouths are. i.e. what number multi-millionaires help to advance some hundred for a reason and sit down on their very own wallets. Bono 'the excellent' ought to feed 0.5 of Ethiopia, if he wasn't too busy calling others egocentric.

I really don't think so. It's unfortunate that it happened, but I think alot of people are making too big a deal out of it. Everyone needs to lighten up, everything in today's world is about pointing fingers at other people, accusing them of being racist, of prejudice, of hatred, and it's just not that way. People say things that are misinterpreted, that are worded a little suspiciously, and it becomes a national controversy. :(

I don't think that Rosie meant her remark to be racially offensive. Get real. People from the West DO sound silly when try to pronounce some Oriental and Eastern European languages. That doesn't make those languages silly. People are really being too easily offended these days.
What's next? When you see kids in neighborhood playing cowboys and Indians, will you nail on the cross the six-year-old with the feather behind the ear?!

She might just be ignorant. Some people are just not aware that certain things are offensive to certain people.
