There are three possible answer here
The disk may be damaged or dirty, in which case you need a disk cleaner.
You may have a defective Ps2. There were alot of ps2's released that did not play DVD bottomed or certain black bottom Sony games.
The lense may be shot, dirty, or out of alignment. For this i would suggest taking it to a specialist, or if your handy with these things like i am, take it apart and fix it yourself.
But overall if none of those fix your problem, time for a new one.

I havent used my PS2 in a whilst yet i think the blue ones are cd's as unfavourable to dvds. Is your psstanding up? If it isnt then attempt status your playstation (so plainly like a tower). in spite of if it particularly is then your lens is to warped to be corrected by making use of something like that. after the inital launch of the PS2 sony switched from a tumbler lens to a plastic one. over the years the plastics gets warm and warps. if it relatively is the case, it relatively is going to maximum in all probability be extra handy so which you will get yet another PS2 than attempting to repair it. or you need to look on the subsequent-gen structures if the money are accessible to you. i'm relatively keen on the Wii.

either one of two things I can think of......the disk is a blue back or the PS2 is an older version.....if PS2 is an older version have it refurbished (updated at a game shop)....usually it dose not cost that much....I have trouble with my PS2 in the same way ( my problem was with God of War)..
