I realise this question would probably be more fitting in another section, but Polls and Surveys is the only category you get a decent amount of replies. Ok? Ok.

Skip the engraving, it's going to get lost eventually and then he'll feel lots worse, so spend it on the pen, perhaps with a distinctive "this is an expensive pen" logo.

I personally would spend a little less on the pen and include a note saying that 40 pens have been donated as part of this gift to a school in ........................... New Orleans, where-ever, and contact a church or some school and ask or just go to Walmart or Staples, buy a couple packages of Bics, and bring them to the poorest school you drive by.

If the guy likes pens, or nice tools in general, yes. I'd be delighted by such a gift, but I've loved good writing implements for about 30 years.

That's a decent gift. As long as it's a Sigma pen and not one of those cheap knock offs

I love a real nice pen--drop the engraving and spend more on the pen itself!--

I think it's a good gift for a businessman. They always need pens, right? As long as it's a good one, it's not boring at all.

well i dont think thats boring at all.. infact its highly appropriate, and getting it engraved is even more special, coz u know how these businessmen love to 'outshine' each other - imagine him bringing it out to sign a cheque or some important document... ayyyy yo!!!!!!!

Go for it!!
