It seems there is a higher likelyhood to of same sex marriages going the distance based on more similar ideologies. Please do not respond with any opinions on the subject. I'm just looking for statistical data to support or deny this theory.

Same sex marriage hasn't been legal long enough to have that statistic. Netherlands was the first country to legalize it, that was in 2001. So those people only have 5 years (almost 6) so far to have a marriage or break up. While heterosexual couples have had however many years they want to live together and divorce and everything. Basically any heterosexual marriage that is at least 7 years old - and there are tons of those, is older than the oldest gay marriage at the moment.

I hope that you're following my thinking here.

Based on sociological studies of gay/lesbian relationships, there is a large amount of data that shows gay male relationships, in general, are not monogamous and long-term relationships (5+ consecutive years) are almost non-existent.

Whereas lesbian relationships tend to be the opposite. Monogamy is generally the rule, and long term relationships are the norm.

So if I had to put down some money, I'd say the length of time of a stable lesbian relationship would be comparable to a stable straight couple.

No not at all.

The way it is with gay man you can be together
for a long time (lets say 2yrs. or more ) but as soon
as another pretty face or a younger guy comes
along ther went the relationship.

I don't believe in same sex unions.

Your question is unfair. If you only want statistical data, Google it yourself. This IS an opinion forum.
