last week while hunting i walked right up on a owl sitting in a tree. it was midday and he just turned and looked @ me as if to say hello there. i got within 5 feet of him and told he that he was a pretty fellow and he need not worry about any harm coming to him. anyway i knew that seeing an owl in the daytime is very rare, but according to my mother who is 100% cherokee indian and is very superstitious , seeing an owl like that is really good luck?? well i kind of thought my mom was full of it, but lately i have been having all kinds of good luck?? i even bought a lotto ticket just in case. has anyone else ever had a similair experience? if so tell me about it!!

Animals are capable of interpreting body language better than we are since we don't rely on it as much as they do. The Owl could probably tell that you meant no harm. As far as the luck goes, when someone tells you you're going to have good luck, then you're mind emphasizes the positive details in your life.

I've never come up on an owl like that during the day. but when I was a teenager I was sitting in the backyard in the early afternoon when a big barn owl swooped down not too far from me and knocked himself silly for a little while because there was a white stone in the grass that he obviously thought was a mouse. He just sat there dazed for about five minutes, then he flew off just fine.

That really has nothing in common with your story I guess, sorry, lol. However my husband is native American as well, and I recall my mother in law mentioning something about this before, she said it was good luck as well.

Good luck with the lotto!!

That sounds really lucky to me. I'm glad you told me that story. My husband and I bought a derelict house 18 months ago to reform. We did all the work ourselves and are about to sell it. The day after we bought it we went to have a look around and found an owl that had become trapped in the attic. We released it. Even since we finished the house and it has been kept shut up the owl has still go in because I have seen owl scat on the floor. Though we've seen it flying around we've never found it in the house again. I'm sure your mother is right and it's very luck. I'm glad to hear I will be lucky too. I always feel as if I'm lucky, my life is generally very good.

Hope the luck continues

Some species of owls normally hunt during the daytime, so if you're in an area with lots of Snowy owls, or Little owls, you'll see them more frequently. I don't think that counts any more than seeing any other bird! But most species of owls are indeed either night- or dusk-hunters, so then it's kinda special to see one... and I believe that those special things can indeed hold some significance to us.

Haven't heard of that but I had everything bought before the baby was born. Heck 2 days before he was born we were out buying the last few small items we had forgotten about (hairbrush, some pacifiers and I forget what else). He's 5 mo old now and we are both fine. So if you don't get enough diapers or clothes or wipes or gripe water or bottles or whatever before the baby is born, you have to make do until the baby is 4 mo old? Tell your bf to grow a spine and tell his family to stuff it.

Same thing happpened to me last year while deer hunting. I walked to within ten yards of a bard Owl and it just sat there looking at me. I walked around it in a cirlce just to watch it turn it's head around. I also talked to it for a while. I went on and as far as I know he is still sitting there. As for the luck I am still breathing and I think that is as good as it gets.

I haven't really had a 'good luck ' day happen to me, but I have had a bad luck day. I got struck by lightning one day while at the park after holding a railing in an electrical storm. I was rushed off to hospital and survived!!!!!!!!!! Omg I came so close to dying! I now believe in luck because I heard that you have a one in million chance of being struck! How the hell had I beaten those odds?
