Love Honour & Obey. A classic British gangster film (not in a Lock, Stock style, but just as good).

Films based on Football Hooligans are very big over here in UK
Try
I.D. (mid 90's)
Football Factory (2001/2)
Green Street (2004)
The Firm (80's) Stars Gary Oldman in early days.
For a good Rom-com try
About a Boy
Bridget Jones (1 &2)
Love Actually
Wimbledon (Stars kirsten Dunst)
Notting Hill (Julia Roberts)
Most of the above will have either Colin Firth or Hugh Grant in, (or both he he)
Adult films try
Layer Cake (Ganster/crime)
Lock Stock & two Smoking Barrels (Ganster/comedy)
Essex Boys (Gangster/Violence)
Scum (1980's based an under 18's prison)
Snatch (Gangster, stars brad Pitt as Irish Gypsy)
Also take a look at an Irish Film
The Commitments (Based on a Blues band in Dublin, Hilarious, you may need subtitles because of the accent though.
Happy viewing, but some great films, with much more plausibility than 'Hollywood' movies.

Gangster No.1
Sexy Beast (fantastic)
Dog Soldiers
28 Days After/Later
Trainspotting
Orphans (black comedy)
My Name is Joe(do not watch if feeling down, but top movie)
A Clockwork Orange
Ealing comedies are just the mutts nuts e.g. Passport to Pimlico, The Ladykillers (not Tom Hanks version), The Man in the White Suit.
Have you got a couple of days, coz i could still be writing this come Chrimbo Day

Layer Cake (Action/Drama), the Guy Ritchie films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch (Action/Comedies) would probably be up your alley. About A boy (comedy/drama) is good movie that sort of ventures into chick-flick territory but is still quite funny. 28 Days Later (Horror) is one of the new zombie movies (They run! They scream!).
