I believe that as humans evolve they will desire a government to govern with a heart and using noble concepts. A concept such as do unto your neighbors as you..........
this is not a logical basis for government, often the most selfish motive is the one to follow as it helps your voters and country more....
this is the struggle in politics now the selfish motives or the compassionate giving up of securities from a sense of nobility...or doing the right thing.......
oddly enough the religious right seems to be the selfish voice in Americas head right now and the unreligious left is the compassionate one,,,,,,,,

As some know it is not the safest or easiest thing to do to be honest and giving,,,,,,,
honesty hurts people
and giving just seems to create more people wanting more from you.......

Legislating with your heart means that you could make the wrong decision 50% of the time. Bad politics......

If you apply logic this means you have evaluated the situation and will be much more likely to make the right decision.

emotions interfere with progress. It's the reason why evolution vs. creation is continues to be debated in the face of much more important issues (ie those affecting our immediate survival).

Sound, consensual logic is the key to progress.

I think you need to use both ! Life is full of compromise, and that`s when it becomes logical.

The Legislative branch is entitled to use both and they should use both equally.

The Executive branch needs to use a lot more head than heart.

The Judicial branch should use head only and no heart whatsoever.

Your emotions are a [somewhat distant] product of your thought, not a source of knowledge.

Logic.

Emotions are confused, entangled and conflicting.

That which makes one person happy makes another sad.

Logic is universal.
