I've tried the internet security option under tools that the others recommended. It doesn't stop the access to the sites. Putting in a password required option, to control, only makes it more annoying for anyone else accessing any site. Even accessing yahoo.com would require a password and each time you change pages, you have to enter the password.

I am personally going to go check out the triplexxx link that another poster suggested. Thank you for asking this question, for a good answer is what I'd like to find also.

p.s. I found the website, it's under www.xxxchurch.com

if netnanny doesn';t work for you,
put a password on your account
create a non adminstrater account for him to use,
remove internet explorer, or the internet totally

he can use the computer, but not the net unless the parrent is there with him.

also, look into proxies,
a little more complex.

also, you can use
hosts
to prevent access to many sites....

it is a text only file that reads
128.0.0.1 www.somesite.com

its a whole list
whatever the url ( www.somesite.com)
is listed, it won't load anymore.....

just open your text editor,

type each one on a seperate line

127.0.0.1 www.excite.com
127.0.0.1 www.disney.com
127.0.0.1 www.yahoo.com

and so on, now those sights won't load.

save this file as
hosts
no extenstion
in your windows directory.

if I remember right, there is a file called hosts.sam on your computer, open it, it will give you an idea....

the downside is, you have to know the sites, and block them one at a time... not by topic, but by site.....

easy go to www.trendmicro.com and download and install pc-cillin internet security. now folloow the easy to use instructions to block access to all the categories in the options list. now password protect the program. now you can let your son back on to the computer safely, howeever i think you may need to set up the filter from with in his user account for best results.

I hope this helps.

there are all sorts of other filters on the market. but this program is a total security suite for the PC, sadly online you can only download a 30 day free trial you have nothing to lose by installing this program.
in the end it comes down to personal choice. what ever you find easiest to use.

you can go into you Internet setting, from you top line. Select tools, at the very botton will say internet options, in there you can go to the content tab. There you can enable and even download restrictive software that will stop him from going to pronographic web pages. You can set it to language(s), offensive content, pictures, wave files etc...You can also go to TripleXXX church.com. and download a freesoftware from the churches website, anytime porn is accessed from your computer, it will send and e-mail alert to you with day, time and name of web page viewed, kinda like a silent tracker without them knowing, in the event he finds a way to get around ur basic security skills...Good luck. don't quote me on spelling for the website, you may have to google it to find it. It is all christian web page also, the name is deceiving

1.go to the browser page
2.click on tools
3.click on internet options
4.select content tab
5.move the slider to the right most point
this would surely control the access to adult pages...
good luck...

Heya,
Best thing to do would be to get a program such as NetNanny or the like to automatically block websites with adult content.
