Thyagaraja - your question is not clear what do you want to know about Siddha Vaidyam. There are so many people, including me, interested in this form of medicine. Even deadly disease like Cancer, AIDS, etc. can be treated successfully by Siddha medicine. No you want to know something more on the subject?

Introduction and Origin
Siddha system is one of the oldest systems of medicine in India . The term Siddha means achievements and Siddhars were saintly persons who achieved results in medicine. Eighteen Siddhars were said to have contributed towards the development of this medical system. Siddha literature is in Tamil and it is practised largely in Tamil speaking part of India and abroad. The Siddha System is largely therapeutic in nature.
There are seven Siddha colleges in India - one in Kerala and 6 in Tamilnadu and they are sponsored by AYUSH.(Govt. of India) and affliated to different universities.

siddha means ready. it is nothing but tamil version of ayurvedha. first sidhar was Nandhi. when ayurvedha is akin to Vishnu. sidhaa is connected to sivaa. most names of sidhaa medicines arin sandkrit names. some say sidhaa is Mind. then it shd be sithaa not siddhaa;
the ingredients for ayurvedic medicines r useless after anayear,the churanams r fopr 6 months-oils for three moths. some herbs r not available in all seasons. then u must have a remedy on hand (SIDDHAM). the arishtams and asavms, senthooram and bhaspams r getting sathvam(strength) when u keep long. so the ready medicine kept ready is called siddhaa medicine. it is not a TAMIL medicine as the politicians say. it s a part of ayurvedhaa.
