Michaelmas daisies are still flowering here, the fuscias are still in full bloom. there's been no frost and if there is none my fruit trees will suffer unless i pump them full of fungicide and pesticide. i miss the frost and snow. when i was a kid i used to skate on the frozen lakes and ponds, my kids have never been able to do this. and i used to love the snow, i used to sit at the window at night and watch it coming down, appearing like magic from the darkness in the glow of the street lights, twirling and twisting towards the ground blown by a groaning, guttering wind. it was a magic blanket on a grey and mundane winter world. i would get up early to make sure that my footprints were the first to leave a trace. icicles like glassy swords hanging from the gutters. but most special and wonderful was night, when the clouds Had passed, the stars so constant and unblinking in the frozen air, the snow so harshly white and shadows rich with darkness in the brilliant acerbic silver light of the full moon. it makes me sad that my children may never see and experience this. it would seem we've driven winter away as we a driving all magic from our lives.

Due to plenty of humans' ignoring what certain people state about global warming, we don't have winters in the way that we used to. People are placing chemicals in the air with the gas from their cars, wasting up electricity & heat, wasting earth's valuables like paper or trees, plastic, & glass; which is why we're experiencing climate change, solar energy, home energy solutions, & freecycle.
