What I find more ironic is that they seem to have Democraticly chosen not to be a Democracy.

That's hysterical.

In the first place, the Iraqis did not 'ask' America to free itself. America took it upon itself to 'liberate' Iraq and to then introduce 'democracy.' Who is America to 'allow' any country to create a democracy? It is precisely such warped thinking by the American Government that creates so many problems all over the world. Do not for a moment believe that America is keen to free Iraq from Saddam and then help the country go democratic. The one and only simple focus or reason is Iraq's oil. Now, after all the devastations and killings that had happened and are happening daily, the Iraqis, even if they became democratic (which of course would never happen) do you still think they will love America or Americans or for that matter some of the other nations in the Coalition of the Willing, especially the UK??? Would you if you were Iraqi. If America was so keen to do right by or for other nations in trouble and guide them on the democratic path, how about taking a simlar role in Sudan where thousands have died and are dying and millions are suffering in Dafur. Get real. America is not looking for other nation's love or cares if their sentiments are anti. Their inteference anywhere is based solely on its economic, strategic or military interests, humanity and democracy are just words to justify actions.

I wouldn`t hold your breath on any of that. They will never be free. If they do say we are a democracy now, who do you really think will be running that country ? There are tooo many American hating terrorist and crazy people (Iran) in and surrounding IRAQ. Who ever is president there will be following whoever is threatening him or his family the most. The one most feared will be making the decisions there... And it will like you said be anti American... You can`t make people like you and be your Ali's by arrogance and force like Bush seems to think. The bad people there that hates Americans WAY out # the good people that could possibly like or stand by us, And they will fear the bad so much they wouln`t be able to put up much of a fight in our honor.

Iraqi Islamic extremists don't like us. They never will. We freed the country by eliminating a masochistic murderous dictator and many are appreciative. But the entire middle east is full of people who have been taught, over the past 50 years, to hate and kill anyone who is not Muslim. There is no getting around that. So, we have no choice but to finally face up to the truth and try to increase US and Europe support in the area.
Every day that the US is not attacked, is another day of victory.

We should have done a lot of this differently, something akin to the war against Japan. Leaving aside victory & such... we should have imposed a constitution of our design on them.

Democracy is crap (see Palistinians). We are not a democracy, we're a constitutional republic!

Oh, and what are they now,if not anti, turn it around how would we react to someone coming here telling us what to do, busting into our house's,if we knew the totals on US soldiers killed by Iraqi's,and vice versa,i guess we will never learn,35 years ago we try to stop the spread of Communism, with over 50,000 American soldiers killed or M.I.A. President Reagan showed it could be done with sanctions and money,he brought the U.S.S.R. down, with out one soul lost.

Wrong.Even a democracy that does not like us will be less likely to go to war.Just look at how difficult it is for the U.S. to carry out a war.The people tire of them quickly.

Hey, France is a democracy and they don't like us. You don't do what's right just to make someone like you.
