I have had 1,2 day spotting on and off for 3 weeks now. I took a test last night that came up positive, but now I'm wondering why all the spotting. I am waiting to hear back from the nurse about a blood test, but just curious if I should be worried myself with this or just wait to see what happens. We have been trying for over a year to get pregnant and now with a positive result, I would be devestated if something happened.

It is possible to have a short period during pregnancy, I myself had one for 3 months (3 short duration periods) when I was PG. It can be implantation and breakthrough bleeding as well.
It can be totally normal, but your doc should be able to advise you as you have seen them on the PG issue

my advice would be wait for the blood test results and than go see your ob,i heard of women spotting in the begining of pregnancy, but ask your doctor only he can give you an exact answer and stop your worries.and try not to stress out about things, because stress is not good during pregnancy especially first trimester.and you know what if you want you could just make a phone call to a ob clinic and tell them about spotting and ask for advice from a nurse or an ob and see what they say,im sure they will answer your question.congrats

yes sometimes it is normal my aunt's 3rd kid she didnt even know she was pregnant till 4 days before giving birth to a 7lb baby. (she never missed a period) sometimes the little bit of spotting is because of when the egg broke thru the ovary one thing i did when i got worried a little in my first pregnancy.. a myth about raspberries being good to eat helps prevents miscarriages. dont know if actually true but they tasted good.
but never let something go on too long ask your dr about it, for my friend who recently gave birth for her spotting in the begining, the dr said it was stress. everybody is different

Any spotting with a pregnancy needs to be discussed with your doctor. Especially if you have miscarried before. Also false positives on a pregnancy are very unlikely, whereas false negatives are common.

Don't stress - some women spot, or even have full blown periods, during their pregnancies. Why, no one has figured that out. Just happens.

Sounds like you have much happies to be about - congratulations!

From what I've heard, bleeding in the first trimester is ok. Pain is not. So if you feel any pain while bleeding, go to your doctor.Otherwise you should be ok.
