I've looked at past questions and many answers claim there is no spyware or viruses for Macs, but there is something seriously wrong with mine. At least there is something seriously wrong with the Internet capabilities. It takes forever to upload most websites and won't connect at all to certain sites (some e.gs are Livejournal, Chicagotribune, and the Apple website itself, so I can't even look there for help). Some other applications seem to be running slow as well. I know there is nothing wrong with the Internet connection itself. I tried clearing my brower's cache and that helped a little bit with downloading speed but I still can't connect to certain sites. And that has nothing to do with the sites; I was able to connect to them with a different computer. Any ideas? Anything is appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: I use both Firefox and Safari and the same thing happens with both.

According to a couple forums I just checked - it seems that apple has installed faulty wireless cards in both macbook and macbook pros. Bring your mbp to the apple store's genius bar for service.

Are you using wireless? Download iStumbler and run it, if it shows that there is high interference, try changing the channel of your router.
If you have CoconutWifi, disable it and see what happens.
Input 4.2.2.1 as a DNS # in your Network DNS Server setting.
Download and install 10.4.8 COMBO update for your MBP.
It could also be your router.
If the above steps don't work for you Give Apple a call.

An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz

Wow that auctually is very suprising. Apple's suppourt is commonly very sturdy. in the event that they hung up on you, take it into the shop and get them to replace it. tell them the subject concerns you have been having with it (and the suppourt line). possibly the indoors battery on your contemporary macbook became already fried or the macbook became bent, im undecided. attempt calling Apple one final time. in the event that they dont %. up, then flow into the broker (you will desire to flow to a mac shop, like an AUCTUAL mac shop, no longer macworld or london medications. an auctual mac shop.) they are going to offer you some expert suggestion which you would be able to act on. wish i helped =) --Ellz

Apple very rarely admits to any hardware problems. There are scores of motherboard and power connector problems with other PowerBooks and early MacBook that they will just not acknowledge. If they said there is a problem, believe there is and certainly get the service.
