Hi,
Follow these steps:
1.Start Outlook Express, and then click Accounts on the Tools menu.
2. Click Add, and then click Mail.
3. In the Display name box, type your name, and then click Next.
4. In the E-mail address box, type your Hotmail address, and then click Next.
5. Click HTTP in the My incoming mail server is box.
6. In the My HTTP mail service provider is box, click Hotmail.
7. Confirm that "http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp" (without quotation marks) is in the Incoming mail (POP3),
8. In the Account name box, type your Hotmail account name.
9. In the Password box, type your password, click Next, and then click Finish.
10. Your new account appears on the Mail tab of the Internet Accounts dialog box.
11. Click Close. At the prompt to download folders from the mail server that you added, click Yes.

You don't have to do anything to Outlook Express.
Just open a Hotmail Account and you can have 2 email accounts.
I have Outlook Exp, Yahoo, and Hotmail

If you have Outlook Epxress 7 & above you may not be able to activate the hotmail account.

In the starting page of outlook express u will have to enter valid email id and password

don't think you can do it anymore. I did do it once by setting it up in accounts but I think microsoft canned it, too many errors. I found this link on microsoft that syas you can if you have a Hotmail Plus account. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/171163
