This is a great question! And as someone who greatly appreciates erotic writing (and has even dabbled a bit in it), I'm glad to see someone taking it seriously- honestly, in my opinion, it's far harder to write a good erotic story than it is to write "mainstream" works, despite its stereotype of being 'jerk-off' material with no real skill involved.
For me, I need to have my stories be alive with real people. Characterization is so huge- unless you have that element, then you just have bodies humping on the floor, which is mildly erotic, but gets old fast. However, put two people in diametric opposition to one another and see what unfolds. Pair the shy and the uninhibited to get a crazy tale of new experiences, mentorship, and so on. Put two tops together and see who breaks first in the sexual tension. And so on.
Also, I always like my erotica to deal with, somehow, more than just the erotic element- I like sex to be both the turn-on and the theme. That's why plain old 'romantic' erotica has never done it for me- give me some Pat Califia, some M. Christian- people whose stories live on past the sex, to what the sexual events mean, what they came from, and the characters' lives after them. Does that make sense? I don't know that it does, but when I see it, it makes a story pop in your mind instead of being forgotten.
And lastly, shake things up! We know all the tired cliches- make the sex interesting. That doesn't mean foraying into extreme sexual practices to add that spice, but something that is more than just 'push it in and out'. Don't forget that everything contributes to a sex scene- the people (characterization), the location, the descriptions (yes, all five- sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell), the emotions and feelings (some of the best sex I've ever read comes out of very deep, conflicted emotions- it doesn't have to be just lust and romance), and how everything builds a scene. You keep momentum in a sex scene with this very stuff.
I like authors who are able to artfully blend in various elements- a dash of humor that works, a little drama, a little this and a little that, rather than just with climax as the goal. Remember- half the fun is getting there, and it remains true for reading, too.
Good luck!
P.S.- I love to act as a reader and editor for stories, so if you ever want my opinion, feel free to e-mail me (cando_86@yahoo.com).

In gay sexual reading I would think having them describe how attracted they are to each other then to have them describe having doing the deed in a very passionate matter and describing every tatse feeling and touch. I fing it also hot to think about that there could be way of getting caught as if in public. I have never done that but it has crossed my mind to be a fun or Exciting thing. They are dirtier things I can think of but to be cleaner about it also I think to hear men talk rough during sex can be a turn on... Not abusive but lots of oh yeah you like that ***k sort of thing!!

Good question.
Have written several myself and asked readers for their comments.
Character building is very important, people want to know more than the size of the characters genitals, you have to make people believe in the characters and the lives they lead.
All ways leave something for the readers to use their imagination on.
Don't fall into the trap of endowing your characters with 14" d icks and the capacity to "*** in bucket loads" you will lose credibility. Try to avoid using different words through out the stories for the penis, if you start out calling it a "p*ick" then continue to use it.
Good luck, hope to read one of your stories in the near future.

What a great question, I am a lesbian that loves gay male erotica. I agree with the above comment about Forbidden love, but I go beyond that.
Outdoor sex, that fear of being caught.
and best of all emasculation or feminization, like men wearing panties or pantyhose and then if there is a little voyeuristic action its fantastic.
Good luck
