I had seen people travelling in India In Mumbai in Maharashtra on western line from Churchgate to Virar.. The crowd here in train is very very bad. Train is so crowded that if you tell a ANIMAL to travel in this train & tell him that you will give whatever he demands , he will say NO. Situation of people travelling on this Churchagte-Virar route is worst. Life of these people living from Borivali to Virar is just worst than life of animals. But still these people are very calm Now Railway has also removed racks in train which were used to put luggage. Still these people are calm. ..........?? It is just unbeleivable, how these people remain calm & travel in such crowd. This situation cant be seen in any other country..It happens only in India.. WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS? DO YOU AGREE WITH ME?

well they have their reasons - mainly - the same route by road would take them 4 times the travel time if they go by road transport.

Secondly, beyond vasai, there are no developed roads where vehicles can travel. So train is the only option

Thirdly, it just gets a getting used to the crowd. Those that enter at virar have no problem getting down at churchgate as the train empties there. and at the starting point, one can enter without that much hassle. The same goes for when they're going from Churchgate to virar.

Yes the journey may be uncomfortable - but there are no direct buses connecting the 2 stations, and the buses - some of them get crowded too so even if they manage a break journey - its going to be crowded. Not to mention the ropad development issue in the far off areas.

So, I think they have good reason to do what they're doing - but you're entitled to your opinion.

Cutegirl,
Outside people like U crowd into Mumbai in droves in search of money, hence this suffocating crowd in trains.
A time has now come local people should NOT remain calm & resist these hungry droves .
