Yeah, some of us do not like oversimplified cheesy bs. I doin't find over-exaggeration of good ideas helpful either. For example: I can tell you honestly, there are people I "hate" and its not because I find their hate-worthy attributes attractive.
Here are a couple of my feel-good overgeneralizations/thoughts that I DO find useful:
If something is worrying you, just think about if you died tommorrow, how much would it matter then? Love that one, cures any kind of anxiety temporarily (usually).
In most cases, the action we are worried about taking or not taking today, will not even be a memory 1 week from now, and certainly will not be remembered 1 year from now.
We all exaggerate our own importance to others. When we are thinking "my hair looks awful" the person we are worried about not liking our "awful" hair is thinking "uggh, I'm SO bored, is it lunch time yet!"
I need to work on the "tell someone how you feel one." I do know of an exception though... I used to have a roomate who I maybe had not seen all day. I would say "hey, how's it going" as I'm walking out the door. She would answer with a 20 minute "second-by-torturous-second" replay of her awful day. If this is you, get some help for your lonliness/depression/anxiety/whatever it is. People do not want to hear your negativity and your gripes. Be positive, or find out why you cannot be positive, the rewards to be gained by this are infinite.

Complete guff. It falls apart on the very first statement about two people who would die etc. etc. This, presumably, would be your parents? Even if not your parents, it's complete guff. Many people have absolutely nobody who would die for them, parents or otherwise.
The list then continues ad nauseum into a long list of feeble-minded suppositions and assumptions that bear very little relationship to fact or truth.
A complete load of bollocks.
