was the pain something that happened all of a sudden? If it came on all of a sudden, you may have popped an ovarian cyst. I have cysts and when I am unlucky enough to pop one, my abdomen hurts like i got a gunshot wound, i cant decide if i should poop or throw up, but i do neither, and my abs end up hurting for days afterwards. not a good feeling, if that explains you, go see a doc, tell them what happened. you may have ovarian cysts that can be dealt with many different ways. good luck!

You probably have a common disease in women, endometriosis. It causes very painfull cramping, heavy and irregular periods, pain during ovulation, and eventually as the disease progresses you have pelvic pain almost everyday. If you do have this disorder, based on your symptoms of painfull periods, you would also get adhesion's and cysts that eventually will require surgery to remove. Go see your doctor ASAP and get checked out to see if you have this disease. And ask for narcotic pain meds like vicodin or Tylenol with codeine. Tell him or her that the pain is not going away with over the counter meds like Advil. At first they may try to give you a non-narcotic pain reliever (like Naproxen), and it will help some but they are useless for the severe pain associated with this disease. Good luck, I've been there!

i have exactly the same problem. i take 2 different drugs 2 tablets of each.or theres another called "strong pain" which i get from my pharmacy. while u wait for the drugs to work lie down with a hot water bottle on your stomach and curl your legs up to your chest and take deep breaths. more exercise also help a lot try this. good luck if this doesn't work go to your doctor there are pills u can take that stop your period for about 2 months and then u have it again. as i said good luck.

You should really see a doctor. I sometimes get cramps, but they've only been really bad once, then my doctor switched me to another birth control pill. If you are on the pill and you know exactly what day you will start, my doctor told me that I can start taking ibuprofen 2 days before my period starts (2 pills every 6 hours) to relax my body enough so that I don't get cramps. First talk to you doc, for this kind of stuff I like to go to Planned Parenthood or something similar in your town.

Take your temperature! If you have a fever and this pain make an appointment with your doctor. they can prescribe a certain painkillers directly for very painful menstrual cramps. Use a heating pad, or something really warm. do some sit ups...that usually helps me with the cramps. twist your body gently from left to right. Take a very warm bath. Good luck, sweetie.

You should consult a doctor and tell him your problem. You can request for an x-ray and see the result. If there's something wrong you can get help from the doctor. If there's nothing wrong you can be happy that at least you did a check on your body and your menstrual pain is normal.

I know this may sound a little silly to you, but it may be trapped wind. I suffer quite badly from this sometimes. It's always around about when I've got a big, bad period.
Just keep a bottle of peppermint cordial(you can buy acheap one in the mixers section in the supermarket) and drink a glass straight when you get it again, and it magically disappears.

My sister in law has polysystic ovaries and always has terrible pain on her period - or it could be endemetriosis. Either way, get it checked with your ObGyn asap. I need to do that too as have the same as you!

Probably good idea to see the doctor might find that you can't get him/her interested though because you are not in pain now. One possibility might be endometriosis if this is a regular event
