You can, but it's not a very sensitive test for hernias. A hernia is an abnormal bulge from one body cavity into another or into the connective tissue layers or external environment. Ultrasound (sonograms) can show evidence for bulging contents (say, intestine bulging into a groin hernia) but it's pretty non-specific. Most hernias are diagnosed by physical examination by a physician. If imaging is needed, a CT scan or MRI is much more sensitve than ultrasound.

Geeze Im pretty sure u can.......Sonogram is like an ultrasound. So yeah...... :-)
