If it represents the will of the people of New Jersey, then it is fine. I think this should be decided by the people of each state.
There is a very good argument against the support of gay activity. It is medical. Allowing this legal union would make the gay partner eligible for spousal health insurance from the work place. There are some costly health problems that gays suffer that are not present in traditional unions. That cost would effect tax payers as well.

I think it's a good compromise. The western world has defined marriage as one man/one woman for centuries. Why should that be upset on the whim of a minority? If homosexuals want legal equality, this gives it to them. If what they want is to have people forced to approve of their lifestyle, that is to be denied.

Homosexuals have just as much right as heteros to legally establish their unions.
We are supposed to have a free country: that means freedom for all not freedom for some and not others

I think it is wonderful to see the law finally start to catch up to the reality of healthy, loving relationships. I certainly have nothing to lose by letting someone legally be at the hospital bed of their sick partner, have fair inheritance taxes, or adopt children who are in desperate need of parents.

If the state legislature did it, I like it.
If the state courts ordered it, I don't like it.
Legislation like this is supposed to be made by the legislature, not the courts, who only interpret law, not make it.

It doesn't bother me one way or the other. What bothers me is government being in our lives that much. Besides I have my own sexual dilemma. I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body!!

Hello,
It will be the downfall of our nation.
It is like they are mocking God and creating a NEW Sodom and Gomorrah.
God will not be mocked.
I could have sworn my state of California would have been the first to lead the way...
Hope this helps you.................. : - O
