I think that cities like Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia are the best if you want to speak real Spanish. If you want a big city but not very noisy, Valencia is the best one. (Madrid and Barcelona are bigger) You have there all you want and people is very open-minded and pleasant.
Don't go to places like Andalucia because they speak in a very particular way.
It would be better if you could stay at less one month, but in two weeks you will be able to practise, and this is very important.
Have luck and fun!!!
Xoni from Spain.

If you want to learn to speak Castellano (which is the Spanish most Americans learn in school; it is spoken in Mexico and Latin America) you should go to Madrid or continental Spain. In Barcelona they speak Catalan, a completely different language. However, they have language schools all over Spain that teach Castelian Spanish, and all Spanish understand and use it as the "official" language.
My only thing is that two weeks is not nearly enough to even put a dent on learning the language. It's a start, but I studied for 6 years in college and high school and studied abroad, and still don't consider myself fluent. It might be a fun way to learn some useful phrases though.

There are a lot of schools in Spain that offer 2 week courses with accomodations. If you're travelling alone, this is a great way to meet and socialize with the other students. I would search the internet for locations and prices. You certainly won't master the language in just 2 weeks, but you'll learn how to communicate a lot better.

If you gain knowledge of to talk spanish safely you are going to be understood wherever you move, Latin America or Spain. Every nation has yet another accessory while speakme, however spanish is spanish. After you gain knowledge of spanish you are going to absolutely opt for up phrases utilized in one-of-a-kind international locations, however that is relatively simply slang.

There's an awesome school in Madrid that I went to a couple years ago. They have 2 week programs for all levels of Spanish. The school is called TANDEM Escuela Internacional and it is on Calle (street) Marques de Cubas, #8, near the Plaza de Cibeles. Good luck and enjoy Espanya!!

I really wanted to do barcelona for their world reknowned culture, but the beaches also sounded so gorgeous. Luckily in all my research for different programs, i found some that offer a beach-city program, with two weeks at each. Here are some of the sites i used, i hope they help!

There are plenty of good reasons to learn to speak Spanish and it is now easier than you think to speak Spanish. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/retiring_guide/learn_spanish.htm
