I think its because we as a society idealize rich people, we often envy them,,,, this desire to be superior over others clouds our percepetions of good and bad,,,,, the media also helps this by pushing simple-minded stories (maybe its all we can handle) a black guy kills white woman, scares the hell out of people....but a white well respected C.E.O that decided to bribe senators for a vote that hurts the people is a complicated and extensive story, much longer than our attention span, and ussually his lawyers have a real confusing spin on his actions. and who wouldnt trust a good church going family man,,,,,,,,

Look, the thing about white collar crimes is, they're executed more carefully, precisely and secretly.

Plus, even if the authorities do find out about white collar crimes, they won't be doing anything.
These people have a gazillion bucks. They have two options when they're caught.

1) Pay their way out of it away from the publics' eyes.
2) Use their money and influence to MAKE SURE the authorities involved keep their mouths mum.

Simple as 1, 2, 3.

I take it you don't have any ties to law enforcement. First of all, by blue collar crime I'm assuming you're referring to what is called common crime. The fact of the matter is, alot more people rob liqour stores than people who defraud stock holders. Also white collar crime is caught quite frequently. Millions of poeple are audited every year and thousands are prosecuted.

It's hard to drop an undercover agent into the high levels of business.

Also, the law doesn't care about rich, white guys stealing millions.

Cops want to catch black guys with a rock.

No, and you can start with the lack of oversight of the IRS. Individuals are audited much more than business and they will come after you for a grand, but be a corp and you will get a tax refund!
