Why do so many people use grammar and spelling similar to what one would use while writing a text message on a cell phone? Come on, you have a full keyboard, use it.

Not everybody can type as fast as I can, but everybody should at least have the decency to ask questions usign an acceptable form of English.

Very good question - this does happen more and more these days - especially in chat rooms!

Also with mobile phones being SO inexpensive to own, phones are highly available to the younger generation - so this cell phone text has become a part of culture too!

It's seems the "cool" thing that people do, they think it makes them "elite".

Also, people have become more lazy, and want to get their text written as fast as possible, so use shorthand/abbreviated words.

However it can take twice as long to read the sentence as you try to decrypt the language! haha.

Lets see how long it takes for someone to reply to your Question, using this phone text lingo - YOU KNOW IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN! lol. :D

Yes, it is a bit irritating, especially here in Yahoo Answers, because you can't understand their questions or answers.
