p^2+3q-10q^2
sum=3
product=-10
splitting the middle term such that the sum=3 and the
product is -10, 3=(+5)+(-2) and 120=(5)(-2)
p^2+5pq-2pq-10q^2
taking out the common factor
p(p+5)-2q(p+5)
(p-2q)(p+5)

= p^2 - 2pq + 5pq - 10q^2
= p(p -2q) + 5q(p - 2q)
= (p + 5q) (p - 2q)
