Which is better?The book or the movie?
Please dont write any spoilers because I havent started on either one.

I'm gonna watch the one with Jack Nicholson coz everyone said the newer one sucked.
I guess I'll watch it first.So,I can be all scared and shocked when I watch it.And so I wont be comparing it with the better version(the book)

the book is way better, hands down. its one of his best books. Typically, King's books have not made successful transitions to the screen--but the shining is the exception, it made agreat movie but still not nearly as good as the book.

book is definitely better, the film is OK.
S.K. has a special talent when it comes to telling a story and scaring you in a way that no movie could.
his movies never succeed like this books, because you can never put all that is expressed in a book into a movie.
read his books, stay away from the movies other than Shinning.

I liked the movie. But then again the book was good too,but I am a BIG Stephen King fan.I've read all of his books and seen all of his movies.

The book is always best. Also, remember there are 2 versions of the movie. My favorite is the original with Jack Nickolson and Shelly Duvall. Stephen King is the master of horror. If you haven't read it yet i also recommend his new book "Liseys Story".

I haven't read the book, but the movie is good (the newer version) although very scary.

okay i love the org. w/ Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall. its one of my fave movies. but the book is good too. watch the movie 1st then read the book that way your not disappointed.

The book is always better, because it can represent more things than any movie can.
Also, the book is better, because you can imagine how the action takes place, how the character looks etc.
