Hey all. I'm thinking of naming my first girl Kennedy. Her full name would be something like, "Kennedy Anne Havgaard Steffensen". (yeah, long I know but my fiance has two last names.) Basically I know my brother will never have children because of his "life decisions" and I'd like my family name to continue. It kinda sucks cause the other day I saw a Barbie on tv named Kennedy and I was like, "CRAP >_

I think Kennedy sounds fine for a girl. Don't worry about the Barbie doll thing. If you were naming your daughter after the barbie doll, it would be weird. But since you are not, don't let it bug you. It's neat that your surname is one that will work well as a first name and even sound good on a girl.

Everytime when someone on yahoo askes for baby girl names i always put in the name Kennedy (For both a girl and a boy)
I would name my daughter Kennedy if i ever had a little girl.
I like Kennedy Payton Or Kennedy Alexis

Honestly, it's appropriate for a boy. Its important to choose a name appropriate for the gender, is common, has a great meaning, and can be pronounced easily.

I think Kennedy is a very cute name actually, and the reason behind it is nice as well. I don't think its bad at all. I am naming my upcoming son a name that is usually a surname, Jackson, but we are spelling is Jaxon insted. A lot of surnames actually sound good as first names i think. I like Kennedy and i bet she will be adorable! Good luck!

Absolutley, I have a friend who's daughter's name is Kennedy. She is beautiful, just like her name! I think it's an awesome idea to carry on the name!
